Position Summary

Electronic Component Buyer responsible for placing purchase orders for new and existing goods and services.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

1. Candidate will plan and carry out rapid and accurate placement of orders for materials, supplies, equipment and services, while maintaining excellent supplier relationships.
2. Candidate will communicate and report on status of pending critical purchases to assure management's awareness of any possible delays that might affect planning.
3. Candidate will be responsible for selecting and maintaining sources of supply using progressive purchasing techniques and methods.
4. Candidate must possess a level of electronic component product/commodity knowledge and will attain a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the company.

Educational/Vocational Requirements

1. Five years experience in electronic component purchasing or relating buying experience in a manufacturing environment required.
2. Must be knowledgeable in MRP systems.
3. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong negotiating skills.
